100g Plant Butter (We use Flora Unsalted)
200g Self Raising Flour
100g Golden Caster Sugar
6 Tbps Golden Syrup
1/2 Tsp Bicarbonate of Soda
1 Tsp Ground Ginger
1/2 Tsp Ground Cinnamon
1 Tsp Mixed Spice
A Pinch of Salt
Directions
- Preheat the oven to 180c and line two baking trays with greaseproof paper
- Melt the sugar, golden syrup and golden syrup over a low heat until the sugar dissolves and then remove from the heat
- Sift the dry ingredients, then stir in the melted ingredients so it forms a thick paste
- Depending on the firmness of the mixture you can either roll into a sausage shape and cut into 1/2 cm discs or roll into walnut sized balls, then space them out on your lined baking trays
- Bake in the oven for approximately 10 to 12 minutes, the fairings will turn a chestnut brown and crackle on the top.
